General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR

The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force at the end of May 2018.

It’s a bit of a nightmare trying to understand or figure out the scope of the regulation and how it might apply to your business. Particularly when all of your time is taken up trying to run your business and make it successful.

On top of this you’re probably getting a number of unsolicited emails every week scaring you with promises of fines up to £20 million or significant percentages of your precious profit if you’re not absolutely ready by the deadline.

From our point of view GDPR isn’t about avoiding these fines. We’re here to make sure your business is protected, safe for the long haul and benefits from some of the positive changes that need to be made.

IT Managed can provide you with a high level overview of the GDPR and help you to understand it affects your business. we can also explain the key changes between the old Data Protection Act (1998) and the new General Data Protection Regulation.

We will help you make some sense of the steps you will need to take to work towards compliance including:
o Making your staff aware;
o Defining the information you store, where you store it, why and for how long;
o Looking at privacy and how individuals rights are protected;
o Defining responsibilities in your organisation.
