Changes to Sage 50 Payroll for Real Time Information (RTI)

Real Time Information, or RTI, is a new way of processing payroll information. It’s being introduced by HMRC to improve the way that Pay As You Earn (PAYE) information is collected, and will be mandatory for most businesses from April 2013.

What will RTI involve?

RTI will involve sending information about your employees’ PAYE, National Insurance Contributions (NIC) and student loans to HMRC every time you pay your employees, instead of just once a year with your tax return. The information will be sent electronically, using payroll software such as Sage 50 Payroll.
